Leading U.S. Running Retailer Now Selling Wearable MilestonePod Device In-Store
Columbia, MD – March 15, 2017 – Milestone Sports, a sports tech company focused on connecting retailers and brands to consumers through wearable devices, announces a new distribution partner in Fleet Feet Sports, the leading U.S. running retailer with 170 locally owned and operated stores across 37 states and the District of Columbia.
Last fall, an initial pilot was launched in a dozen locations. Today, more than 40 Fleet Feet Sports stores are now selling the MilestonePod and using the companion marketing platform, MilestoneConnect.

The MilestonePod (MSRP $24.95) is a small, waterproof device that clips onto running or walking shoes and syncs with a smart device for gait and performance insights. Users do not need to carry a phone or remember to recharge. The Pod goes beyond pace and distance by tracking foot-based metrics that are not readily available from even the most expensive devices, making it an easy and affordable addition to any runner’s toolkit. Gait metrics include rate of impact, stride length, foot strike and cadence.
For businesses, the Pod enables an innovative communication and marketing platform called MilestoneConnect. The platform allows retailers and brands to stay in touch with customers based on individual activity and product use data collected by the Pod. Personalized messages are automatically delivered at the exact moment of need. To date, global engagement rates for marketing and coaching offers made through MilestoneConnect are averaging 35%, dramatically eclipsing traditional email or digital advertising engagement.
Through MilestoneConnect, Fleet Feet Sports stores offer customers a mix of coaching, tips, product information, and offers.
